On the Road Again!

Hawk Falls Trail, Hickory Run State Park

Took the trailer for its 2012 maiden voyage to Pa.’s Hickory Run State Park with DH and the Faniros. We were warned about the bears, but apparently they didn’t like the heat any more than we did so they stayed away. The park offered us a nice wooded campsite, an amazing boulder field left over from the ice age, a sandy swimming beach that was packed with at least 1,000 people on the 98 degree day we visited, and great hiking trails. This tree, along the Hawk Falls Trail, is a stunner. I’d definitely love to see it again in the fall.

Rick stands in front of the sea of boulders, a National Natural Historic Site.
